Almost Airtight Nylon Brush Seals: A Permanent Replacement to Weatherstripping

Installation Instructions

Almost Airtight nylon brush door seals are a permanent weatherstripping that eliminate drafts, insects, light bleed, smoke, sound, & more! It can be quickly & easily mounted to the total perimeter of most any type or style of door.Anyone can easily install Almost Airtight in just minutes!!

To install our product, you'll need:

  • Hacksaw 
  • Drill with a #2 Phillips driver tip
  • Diagonal Cutters
  • Marking Pen or Pencil
  • Measuring Tape
  • Mounting Hardware (included with purchase)

Step 1.
Brush is installed, with door closed, on the hinge side of the door.





Next, measure the door from edge to edge.		 step1.jpg (160245 bytes)

Step 2.
Mark the bottom sweep to the same measurement you have for the door.




Here's where the channel needs to be cut...But first, see Step #3.		 step2.jpg (215885 bytes)

Step 3.

Before cutting the channel, slide the brush out of the way.		 step3.jpg (190471 bytes)


Step 4.

Cut the channel at your mark.		 step4.jpg (199506 bytes)


Step 5.

Crimp one end of the channel.		 step5.jpg (170986 bytes)

Step 6.
Slide the brush back into the channel. Trim off excess brush, then crimp that end of rail (as done in step #5).		 step6.jpg (184323 bytes)

Step 7.
Line up edge of brush with edge of door. Before attaching, make sure you have some flex or bend of bristles at the threshold or sill. Make adjustments if necessary.		 step7.jpg (257137 bytes)

Step 8.
Attach brush to door with mounting hardware (included), and a #2 Phillips driver bit.		 step8.jpg (185545 bytes)
